Boxer puppy training

Become an owner of Boxer is very exciting. They are playful, loyal, and intelligent. Sometimes they are used in police department. Training of a Boxer is not very hard. One can do it even in home. For this you will need a crate with large space. Using multiple cages in growing time is not a good idea. You may use a piece of cardboard and increase space by moving the cardboard. Before going to crate training, one thing you should know and that is clicking and gives him a name.

Clicker training is important because it is fun and your pup will adjust with his new life quickly. Clicking should be meaningful. You should teach your pup that clicks means treat. When your pup does something, you should click and give him a treat. That means you like it and your pup will do that work again.

Give your pup a name and add a treat with it every time. When you come with a new pup, everyone seems it has already a name but it’s not right. Don’t let everybody call him in different names. You should train as his name means something good.

The most important and fundamental training for your pup is crate training because crate is safe even when you are not in home. First make sure being in crate is fun. Everybody likes fun. Your dog will be in crate when it’s became funny. Four things will be needed for this training. Clicker, great treats, toys, dogs crate. Keep in mind that you will reward your boxer for staying and going into his crate. You will teach your boxer not to rush out when door opens. Feeding must be in his crate. Your dog will not want to be in his crate first time and may start whining and crying. Until that you will be in its eyesight. When stop crying, you can go outside. Now you will need “go to crate” game. When it goes in, make a click and treat. Every time it gets in click and treat. Do it again. One can use a toy. When it gets in give him a toy. If it stays in the crate, give him a better treat which will encourage him. Don’t treat for staying out. Next step will be staying near back of its crate. Treat him for staying near back. By doing this you will able to shut crate door for longer time. Continuing this you will find that your pup will go to crate for taking rest after all day excitement. Make crate comfortable and safe for your dog. Always play game with your dog.

After finishing crate training it is crucial to complete leash training as you will go outside with your dog. You will need a collar, treats and leash. In the beginning collar may be loose but as time goes tighten the collar and keep it for longer time. Once it used to wear collar, attach a leash. Now you can go out and keep practicing with collar and leash.
